An Orientation Programme for FY BCA students was held on 23rd September, 2021, the day the College re-opened for the new Academic Year. A Total of 34 First Year & 20 Second year students attended the Session at the Anand Keni Giri Auditorium from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Vice-Principal congratulated the students for having been admitted to the Saraswat BCA and welcomed the students to College , and highlighted upon the job opportunities of IT and scope of the BCA course. She ended her address by urging students to work hard towards their goal and be honest in all their efforts,
The BCA Co-ordinator Ms. Sonali Raikar, welcomed the students to the Saraswat BCA family, and introduced the students the features of Saraswat BCA including the infrastructure of BCA. She also gave students a rough idea of the College Library & Sports Department and the resources available therein, which was followed by an introduction of BCA Faculty & other staff members .
The BCA co-ordinator then explained the CBCS System and the BCA Programme structure describing the the different Core, Elective and ability enhancement courses of the BCA CBCS Programme.The different eligibility criteria of admission to Semesters I-VI were also highlighted.
Asst. Prof Ms. Leena Divkar explained the BCA Examination & Evaluation system.
Asst. Prof. Ms. Rebecca Pinto, the comperer of the programme then invited Convenors of the various Cells and Committees of the BCA department to brief the students about the various student welfare activities.
Asst, Prof. Ms. Shreya Kamat briefed the students about the annual IT Event ÍT MAESTRO’organized by Saraswat BCA. She also highlighted the internships programme offered by Saraswat BCA to the students to enhance their technical skills. The FY and SY BCA interns of Saraswat BCA were invited to share their internship experience and their views with the students.
The different Industry visits organized by the BCA department were also introduced.
Asst. Prof. Ms. Prutha Kalangutkar highlighted the different Webinars and Workshops conducted by the Industry experts. She also spoke about the Entrepreneurship development activities.
Asst. Prof. Ms. Surekha Patil encouraged the students to enrol for different industry oriented certificate courses and gain hands on experience on the latest technologies. She outlined the activities conducted by the placement cell and the initiative undertaken by the department to sign MoU’s with IT Industries to strengthen academic-industry interface.

The program concluded with some Ice-breaker activities to promote interaction & entertain the students followed by refreshments.
